  • me: It's not John Milton saying it; it's John Milton saying it AS SATAN. I feel that's a pretty significant difference.
  • samir: But isn't Satan sympathetic in Paradise Lost?
  • me: Sympathetic-ish, but he's still, you know, THE PRINCE OF EVIL.
